The ENG2020 Plan unanimously adopted by the Board of Directors

The Board of Directors is pleased to announce that the ENG2020 Plan, a product of the 2017-2020 strategic planning process and the accompanying financial framework, was unanimously adopted on December 16. This plan will enable the OIQ to strengthen its public protection mechanisms, complete the changes it has been making and better support its members.

The ENG2020 Plan is a key factor in improving the OIQ’s member services and strengthening its public protection activities. To succeed, the OIQ will need members of the profession to support and actively participate in its efforts. We are counting on you!
You will receive more information about these efforts at the beginning of the year. Furthermore, the OIQ’s President and Executive Director will take some time to talk to members about them when the Regional Tour that started last fall continues in the first half of 2017.

The ENG2020 Plan will be implemented starting on April 1, 2017 with a focus on:
- reducing the time required by the Office of the Syndic to complete its inquiries;
- improving the professional inspection program;
- stepping up the illegal engineering practice prevention program;
- setting up information technology tools to support members more effectively.
- At first, a supplementary assessment of $50 ($17 for retired members) will be added to the regular annual dues amount voted on during the last Annual General Meeting. This supplementary assessment will be payable when you complete the upcoming annual registration process, by no later than March 31, 2017.
- Afterward, the supplementary assessment amount will be included in the regular annual dues amount so that this ambitious plan can be achieved.
